But in case you haven't heard yet, rest isn't just a cozy pastime or a perfect excuse for evading your problematic neighbor; it's the secret sauce to giving Schwarzenegger a run for his money. Here's the science; your body needs good, quality sleep to recover, repair muscles, and heck, to keep you from punching someone in your half-asleep zombie mode. Yet, sadly, our sleep hygiene is as messed up as a pinecone in a pizza. Dear friend, do you drag yourself out of bed every morning, dreaming of coffee IV drips? Then it's time for a sleep upgrade: Same sleep and wake times (Yes, weekends included. Stop crying.), dark, cool room, dump the electronics before bed, and meditation. So, in this sleep, workout, and nutrition waltz, make sure you aren't stepping on your pillow's toes. Or in your sleep-deprived state, someone else's. I mean it! There's no gym for the face.
